Dental implants in Albania: prices, procedure and quote
A dental implant replaces the root of a missing tooth, so you can chew and smile again without touching the neighbouring teeth. At our boutique clinic in Tirana the surgery is carried out by a specialist oral surgeon, with European-standard materials and a clear quote before you book your trip.
- Single implants, multiple implants and full-arch work
- A specialist oral surgeon — the same doctor throughout
- Straumann and Nobel Biocare components
- Free treatment plan before you travel
- English-speaking support from first contact onwards
- Direct flights from major European hubs
A dental implant is a titanium screw placed in the upper or lower jawbone which, once healed, supports a prosthetic crown. It is the most stable answer to a missing tooth because it works like a natural root: it does not require the adjacent teeth to be filed down, as a conventional bridge does, and it helps preserve bone volume where the tooth was lost.
The same treatment costs noticeably less in Albania than in Western Europe — not because the materials or the protocols change, but because running a clinic and a dental laboratory costs less here. The implants we place are the same brands used in practices across Europe, with the same documentation and the same implant passport.
Every case starts with an assessment: you send us a panoramic X-ray (OPG) or photographs, our doctors review them, and we explain whether an implant is indicated, how many you need, whether a bone graft is required and how many days the work would take. Only then do you receive an indicative quote, with no obligation.
How it works, step by step.
- 01
1. Case assessment and CT scan
Before you travel we review your panoramic X-ray or photographs. On arrival at the clinic we take a CBCT scan: the examination that shows bone volume and density in three dimensions and lets us plan the exact position of the implant.
- 02
2. Final treatment plan
The surgeon goes through the plan with you: how many implants, which type of crown, any extractions or grafts, timings and costs. The final quote is confirmed at this stage, after the examination — not before it.
- 03
3. Placing the implant
The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic and takes 30 to 60 minutes per implant on average. The titanium screw is placed in the bone and the gum is sutured. You receive written instructions on eating, hygiene and medication for the days that follow.
- 04
4. Osseointegration
Bone grows around the implant surface and stabilises it. This phase usually takes 3 to 6 months, depending on the site and the quality of the bone, and it happens once you are back home. In many cases a temporary is fitted in the meantime.
- 05
5. Final crown
On the second trip we take impressions and fit the final zirconia or ceramic crown, matched in shape and shade to the rest of your teeth. From that point on the implant is brushed and checked like a natural tooth.
How many days and how many trips
Implant treatment is a two-stage path, because osseointegration has to happen between placing the screw and fitting the final crown. That is why almost every case needs two trips to Tirana, a few months apart.
We set the dates together, around your commitments and the available flights. Between the two trips you stay in touch with our team for any questions, and we keep following your case after you return home.

The doctor who treats you

Implant work at our clinic is led by Dr. Gresa Baboci, who graduated in Dentistry and Dental Surgery at the University of Genoa, holds a four-year specialisation in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and operates at the 'Mother Teresa' University Hospital in Tirana. The same doctor examines you, performs the surgery and sees you at your check-ups.
